This is what the author had to say: I consider myself as one of the most enthusiastic mint rubbers I've ever met. However, I am aware of the fact that being a brilliant rubber is not all about talent. It takes ambition, it takes inspiration and a lot of dedication. The walk of life, the everyday problems, the dazing society could make our vivid effort fade to black and turn it into a pale, shaded ordinary life. That's why I come to you with my open soul and with a proposal. As from this number of the RMRA Magazine, all the subscribers enlisted will receive a daily or monthly inspirational wise saying that'll keep them awake and support their every-day struggle against the conventions. I myself am willing to contribute to this process, using my wide and deep experience as a mint rubber. Needless to say that this activity (or should I call it ritual) made me extremely wise.Keep up the good and the evil!   Draga William, nu stiu daca mai tii minte, dar in primul meu mesaj catre voi, puneam intrebarea retorica: 'oare animalele freaca menta? ' (evident, intrebare a fost pusa si de altii, inaintea mea). Acest retorism a fost insa dat la o parte azi, cand pe holul departamentului 'Ethology and Wildlife Research' , am constatat prezenta unui poster nou, cu titlul 'Rubbing-behaviour of red deer (Cervus elaphus) and its influence on the forest'. Iti dai seama ca asta inseamna ceritficarea stiintifica a acestei activitati? E fantastic. Chair daca nu e neaparat vorba de menta, cu certitudine animalele freaca copacii. Cerbii freaca cu coarnele lor copacii, in special primavara, cand pierd vechile coarne si le dezvolta pe cele noi. Pentru a explicita acest comportament, autoarea a plasat in mijlocul posterului o poza cu ' a rubbing stag':). M-am uitat cu atentie sa vad care au fost intrebarile, sau ipotezele de start ale studiului. Le citez mai jos: 1. At which season and point of day do the stags rub? 2. Who rubs most often (stags without harems, harem-holders or young stags)? 3. What is the motivation for rubbing? 4. Is there an influence on the growth of trees in the forest? Din pacate, posterul prezenta doar rezultatele preliminare pe o perioada de un an, ale unui proiect mai lung, de trei ani. S-a constatat ca cerbii incep frecatul copacilor dupa-amiaza si continua in nestire, pana seara tarziu. Nu exista o diferenta statistic semnificativa intre tipurile de frecatori, daca au inceput activitatea, o fac toti cu sarg:). De asemenea, se pare prin frecat nu se distruge padurea in asa masura incat sa se ia masuri de combatere a acestui comportament. Comportamentul nu este unul patologic, compulsiv, sau stereotip, care sa indice o stare crescuta de stres. Cercetatoare respectiva nu a reusit sa raspunda inca la intrebarea 3. Nu poti sa spui intr-un poster stiintific ca acest comportament se produce 'just so':). Oricum, studiul continua. Au reusit sa identifice doua tipuri de manifestari ale acestui comportament: 'rubbing pacefully' (frecarea copacilor in plan vertical) si 'rubbing excited' (frecarea in plan orizontal). Inchei aici, cu speranta ca voi mai gasi astfel de studii absolut stiintifice avand ca si subiect un astfel de comportament.
