![]() The RMRA has recently been presented with a very serious situation: the lack of mint in certain areas of the globe correlated with unsuitable conditions for gas burning. As a short-term remedy we have suggested alternative practices such as "laying with the belly towards the sun" or "pulling the cat's tail"; in the next few months we intend to assemble a comprehensive list of all activities associated with mint rubbing. Here is Nick's message: I've been reading the Mint Rubbing Journal avidly for over a year now and picked up many useful tips. However, as we move into Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to pursue my new interests. In our Winter I would leave all four stove burners going for hours, just for the sight, smell, sound and occasional touch. I found it soothing and educational but since the temperature here is now around 25, the rest of the household has suggested that I find some other activity. I used to spend hours cutting leaves for the whippet but the fresh spring leaves seem determined to stay on the trees. Don't mention mint. This exciting, exotic substance is almost unheard of in Australia, so currently I am left without a creative outlet. Please advise if there are other similar activities that I can enjoy until the leaves start to fall again and the weather turns cold. And make sure you publish my plea in the next exciting edition of your journal. ![]() This is a true story of the real benefits of rubbing mint.
